On Her Master's Secret Service is a brilliant addition to the Masters and Mercenaries series! This one hit the spot as well as leaving me wanting more, more, MORE! Lexi Blake is one of the best and she more than proves it with Alex and Eve's story.


If you are an avid reader of this series, you've always wanted to know what the HELL happened in Alex and Eve's relationship. We finally get down to the nitty gritty and all questions are answered, and believe me it is not pretty at all. In fact, it will down right break your heart. Alex has never forgave himself for what happened with his wife. Eve can't go back to the woman she used to be before she was broken. They are both holding on for dear life taking whatever they can get from one another until the past comes back and threatens to tear what's left of their "contract" to pieces.


"It broke. We broke and we can't come back from that. We can't pretend to be the kids we were before. We can't have the marriage we had, and until we stop looking back, neither one of us can move forward. I've done this to us."


Jesus!....these two ripped my heart out of my chest. I've wanted to know more about these two since this series started. Alex McKay is co founder of the McKay-Taggart Security Service team. He's also as dominant as they come. With his gorgeous looks and total alpha male swagger he can have any sub he wants, but he only has eyes for his ex-wife. Alex can't let go of the past, so when an opportunity arises, and he can finally make sure Eve is safe, he ends up making the same mistakes that pushed his wife away in the first place. Grrrrr! Alex, you fucking idiot! I've said this out loud way to many times at the beginning of this book. I adore this Dom, but sometimes I did want to smack him upside the head. You are the Dom, she is the sub! Be a man and order her to rip up the "joke" you call a contract and tell her that she is YOURS!


When Alex's mission puts them together again, it forces them to take a look at the obstacles that are keeping them apart as well as the passion and love that can pull them back together. Can you say emotional wreck?! Yeah, that was me through this entire story. Alex and Eve are strong. Eve certainly holds her own against the Uber Dom. They have such a deep, overwhelming connection that melts your heart. Neither of them are totally complete with out the other. The connection has always been there, they just need to get through their stubbornness and break down those walls that the past has created.


Oh, and if you are wondering....the characters that you have grown to love are back in the action, and better than ever! Jake and Adam are still funny as ever, causing trouble and totally infatuated with their wife Serena. Serena is still trying to find a heart pounding plot for her next story. Liam (with his sexy accent) and Avery could not be more adorable together. Sean, or Little Tag, and Grace are enjoying their bundle of joy. Then we have Ian Taggart. There has always been something about Ian, you just know he is in a dark place. Let's just say that A LOT of things come to light about his story, and I can't freaking wait until that comes out! I had quite a few AH HA moments regarding Ian's past in this book, and I will be counting down the days until I can learn more.


One of the things I love about Lexi's writing is her ability to constantly keep you guessing. Who's good? Who's bad? What will he/she do next?! She also knows how to write a sex scene! I mean DAMN! Intense, sensual, ridiculously hot! I did not want to put this story down, and I didn't! I read this in one sitting and believe me, after you get started you will have a hard time powering down that kindle of yours too!
