A Beautiful Mess by T.K. Leigh was a wonderful, heartwarming, beautiful love story. I was so captivated by this book, I couldn’t put it down for one second. The plot was so engaging, the pace was pretty close to perfect, and the characters touched my heart. T.K. Leigh is a new writer to me, and I am so ecstatic that I found her and her work. I’m anticipating some pretty damn good stuff in the future from her. Keep her on your radar romance readers.
“But I’m sure I’d enjoy the sound of you out of breath as well, just as long as it were my doing.”
I just LOVE it when I can relate to a character. Olivia Adler and I, even though we both try to keep our distance with friends and lovers because we don’t want to lose them in the end, I feel like we could have been amazing friends. When you lose pretty much everyone you love, you lose a piece of your soul as well. And when you lose a piece of your soul, it is extremely difficult to risk losing even more. Olivia lost her parents when she was young, and after that, she lost her uncle who looked over her. Who wouldn’t blame her for refusing to be in any type of real relationship with lovers or friends? So she sets rules for herself: no sleeping over with lovers, do not meet lovers friends, get off, and get out. Plain and simple. It’s got to be a lonely life, but it’s necessary for Olivia.
“Don’t you dare touch yourself today. I want your orgasm and I plan on getting it later.”
Alright ladies, meet your next BBF, or Book Boyfriend, Alexander Burnham, or Mr. Burnham **Swoon** Successful, protective, domineering, sexy as hell, oh my god, what more could you possible want? Alexander is the owner of his own security firm and he is an ex Navy Seal. Seriously, I could go on, but he my perfect man. As soon as Alex lays his eyes on Olivia after saving her from a horrible event, his past comes back to haunt him. He has to protect her, nothing can happen to her, no matter what, he will keep her safe.
“Tell me you like it, Olivia. Say the words. Tell me I’m the only one who can set your body on fire like this.”
This was such a page turner. Chapter after chapter, kept me hoping and guessing what would happen next. A Beautiful Mess was such a great start to this series. This will pull you in every direction you can imagine. It will make you curse, make you cry, and it will melt your heart, with the amount of love and devotion that Alexander has for Olivia. Simply beautiful.
I feel like I do have to give a warning that this book has what you would call a WTF ending! Yes, my friends, there is a cliffhanger. You will scream and pout and scream some more, but just know that the second book in the series, A Tragic Wreck is expected to come out the beginning of February. I know in reader speak, that is like FOREVER! but it will be here before you know it. At least that is what I keep telling myself :)
