Shayna Renee's Spicy Reads

My name is Shayna Renee and reading is my passion. I can’t wait to escape reality and dive in to a passion filled love story! I own a Nook, Kindle, iPad, and way too many paperback books to count. I never find myself without a way to read a chapter here and there. My favorite type of book is one that can pull every type of emotion out of me. The uglier the cry I get from reading, the better! It all started when a friend of mine urged me to read a little book called Fifty Shades of Grey. Have you all heard of it? Yeah, I thought so. I found myself wanting to see what else was out there, what was so fascinating about this particular genre. On my journey, I discovered authors like J.R. Ward, Shayla Black, Sylvia Day, and Sylvain Reynard and I was just hooked! After reading these fabulous books for a while, I discovered I really had no one close by to share my thoughts with. That’s when I decided to start a blog; a review blog that could help me get my thoughts out there and in turn get other people’s recommendations and opinions. I absolutely LOVE the authors and romance readers I have met through this journey, and I only hope to continue sharing my adoration of books with you!

Unbeautifully (Undeniable: Book Two)

Unbeautifully - Madeline Sheehan I need more fuckin' stars!

"I'm gonna fix it," he said fiercely. "And then I'm gonna fix it again and keep on fixin' it until the bad stops outweighin' the good, until there ain't nothin' but good left."

So, I was EXTREMELY excited to start this book after reading the first one Undeniable. This book was UN Fucking Believable! I knew after I started tearing up after reading the freakin' prologue that I was done for. This story will leave an incredible ache in your chest that will still be there long after you finish reading it. Proceed with caution! Unbeautifully will pull you in, make you hurt, make you care too much, and then spit you the fuck out!

"I continued to torture my already broken heart; I made it hurt, more and more, until I didn't think I could bear the pain for one more second."

This is Danny and Ripper's story. I couldn't wait to get to their story. Danielle West, who is Deuce's daughter had a great life. She was involved in gymnastics, cheer leading, and dance committees. She had close friends and good grades. Then LIFE got in the way. After what happened with her father and stepmother, her life went down the drain. Her father was never around, her real mother wanted nothing to do with her or her brother, and she pretty much had to take care of herself. Danny lost something inside herself.

Erik "Ripper" Jacobs was 17 when he joined the Hell's Horsemen Motorcycle Club. He lost his parents to a drunk driving accident and had nowhere else to go. That's when Deuce took him in and made him a brother. Ripper has never been the same since what happened with Frankie "Crazy" Deluva. Horribly scared and broken, Ripper would never believe he could have something so beautiful, someone like Danielle.

"Baby." he said gruffly. "Man like me got no business with a girl like you. You're nothin' but fuckin' beauty and I'm a whole lot of fuckin' ugly who's already halfway to hell."

Danny and Ripper together through this story was like watching a train wreck combined with a beautiful sunset. It was horrible, heart wrenching, and soul crushing, and yet it was beautiful and exquisite. I don't think I've every experienced so many emotions while reading a book. It was such a great experience. The timeline in this book was nicely done. The flashbacks from Undeniable had me crying again, and we got to experience some more of Cox and Kami. Those two crack me the hell up.

"No, bitch, fuck you! I'm fuckin' Puerto Rican! Say it, Kami, say Puerto Rican!"

"No!"

"Say it!"

"American Indian!"

Of course, Deuce and Eva are a big part of this story as well. I found out the aftermath of the "Frankie incident," and it is NOT pretty at all! When Deuce started crying it was all over for me, I let loose and balled my fuckin' eyes out. Uh! What that man does to me! It is just so hard to listen to these characters tear each other apart, even when they love each other so much.

"You wanna hit me?" he roared, curling his hand into a fist as she continued slapping and shoving him. "Then fuckin' hit me, EVA! FUCKIN' REALLY HIT ME! FUCKIN' HURT ME, BITCH. FUCKIN' HURT ME!"

Like I said, a fuckin' train wreck! Even though there was a lot of bad in these people's lives, there were good things as well. Danny and Ripper had these silent conversations that were beautiful, and Ripper just loved the hell out of Danny. No matter how bad it got, and believe me it got bad, they would find their way back to each other. At the end of this story, I felt like I was holding my breath the entire time, and finally I just let it out and all the emotions started crashing down on me again. It's so wonderful and divine when a book can do that to you. I'll tell you one thing though, this author knows her shit, knows how to dig in and get to the reader's heart and soul, and then hold NOTHING back! Well done Madeline Sheehan....Well FUCKIN' done!

"Life may not always go the way you'd planned, you may not have the perfect family, you may not be the most beautiful, but that doesn't mean you can't make the best of what you do have."
